The elections were observed by Prof. Teofil Jesionowski, Rector of the Poznan University of Technology. In his speech, he congratulated the new president and thanked the Students’ Union for their work so far, in particular for activities during the pandemic and those related to the effects of the war in Ukraine.
The Students’ Union of the Poznan University of Technology is an organization including all students of the university. Its main goal is to constantly evaluate and improve the quality of education and the didactic process, support students' social and living matters and monitor the housing conditions of the student housing estate.
SU’s tasks also include animating the free time of the academic community by organizing numerous cultural, sports and charity events. The Students’ Union cooperates with the authorities of the university and individual faculties, as well as with a number of student organizations and universities at the local, national and foreign levels under the Students' Parliament of the Republic of Poland and the Forum of Technical Universities.
PUT Students’ Union consists of nine Faculty Student Councils, whose representatives are elected among students through elections organized at each of the faculties. Members of all FSCs form the Students’ Union Council, from which the President is elected together with the members of the presidium appointed by the President.
