History of Architecture and Urban Planning Scientific Club
Scientific supervisors of the Circle:
dr hab. inż. arch. Grażyna Kodym-Kozaczko (Sekcja Historia)
dr inż. arch. Mieczysław Kozaczko (Sekcja Phi - Teorii Kompozycji)
mgr inż. arch. Agnieszka Ośmielak-Stankiewicz
prof. dr hab. inż. arch. Piotr Marciniak (Sekcja In Situ, dawne KN In Situ w trakcie procedury włączania do KNHAiU )
The History Section of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning Scientific Club focuses on the history of architecture and contemporary urban planning. It has particular achievements in documenting, researching, and popularizing the work of architects and urban planners active in the 20th and 21st centuries in Poznań and Greater Poland. The concept of the Student Research Group's program stems from the needs of the local creative community and is based on close collaboration with them (SARP, TUP, WOIA, Posnania Municipal Publishing House, National Museum, Museum of Independence, and others). Students establish personal contacts with architects, enhance their design skills, and learn about the historical foundations of their profession.
The Phi (Theory of Composition) Section of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning Scientific Club. The aim of this section is to develop students' interest in the theory and practice of spatial composition. This topic is examined from a multifaceted perspective, examining compositional principles stemming from, among other things, the psychophysiology of perception. A special place in the research will be given to so-called real-time composition (i.e., universal principles of spatio-temporal composition, the relationships between musical and architectural forms, scenography, painting, as well as ballet and various theatrical forms). Research on cohesive composition, thus defined, is intended to serve the design of high-quality architectural environments..
The Discoverers of Contemporary Architecture In Situ Section of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning Scientific Club. The Section of Contemporary Architecture Explorers In Situ, formerly the KN In Situ, under the direction of Professor Piotr Marciniak, PhD, DSc, Eng., Arch., will resume its activities in the summer semester of 2024 as a section of KHAiU. Its goal will be to explore architecture "in situ"—"in place" (from the Latin). By researching at the source, while simultaneously learning about the history, culture, and characteristics of a given city, we have always strived to discover the world of architecture tangibly: by touching, observing, and experiencing it on-site. In addition to numerous trips, publications, meetings, exhibitions, and research projects are planned.
The sections support each other in their activities. Their activities include open-air workshops, exhibitions, films, workshops, publications in academic journals, and presentations at professional academic conferences.

Scientific supervisor of the Circle:
dr hab. inż. arch. Radosław Barek, prof. PP
The Architecture Students' Scientific Club was established in 1996 and is the oldest student association at WAPP. Our activities focus on building with natural and ecological materials, architectural and spatial education for children and youth, conducting lectures with renowned studios, and conducting field inventories of traditional regional architecture. For many years, the Student Association has organized the "ARCHIczwartki" series – meetings with architects from across Poland. One of the Student Association's recent projects is the construction of the Natural Pavilion in Dziekanowice, where we can experience traditional construction techniques in action.
